Berd Berries

This project received support from the UNDP Global Environment Facility’s Small Grants Programme. Within its framework, women in several highland communities of Berd established berry orchards. After receiving the necessary training, the women began small-scale production of berry jams. The low-sugar jams made from blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries later became part of our experimental kitchen. They have become a favorite food for many visitors due to their health benefits and rich flavor.
An aquaponic greenhouse for blueberries was also established, where different types of blueberries were cultivated with maximum water and soil efficiency.
Later, the program cooperated with the Arctic University of Norway (Tromsø).

Berd Women's Academy

This platform gives local women the opportunity to become educated and empowered. Within the program, short—and long-term courses have been organized in areas such as business management, innovative tourism, and sustainable agriculture. Upon completing the courses, participants have received grants to bring their ideas to life.
The program was implemented with the support of Finland’s Local Cooperation Fund.

Bears and Berries

As a member of the Innovative Tourism Academy, the “Bears and Berries” project also led to the establishment of a guesthouse by the same name. This space hosts tourists visiting Berd, members of the Armenian diaspora, and various expert and research groups.
An online map highlighting the tourism attractions of Berd has been created, and a collaborative platform has been formed between tourism-oriented establishments in the community.
This initiative has received support from the European Union and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The Berd Women’s Resource Center

As a women-supporting organization, closely collaborates with the Women’s Fund Armenia and the Women’s Resource Center – Yerevan. Every year, in cooperation with these organizations, discussions, film screenings, and various format meetings are held around the topic of violence against women, highlighting the role of women in the family, in public life, and at different decision-making levels.

Support to Women Displaced from Artsakh

This is a program implemented in partnership with the UNHCR Armenia. With their support, training sessions were held for women displaced from Artsakh, and essential humanitarian aid and work tools were provided.
Displaced women remain at the center of the foundation’s attention, and every year, with their participation, the foundation organizes exhibition sales and produces documentary videos.An aquaponic greenhouse for blueberries was also established, where different types of blueberries were cultivated with maximum water and soil efficiency.
